Frequently asked questions

What is HypeDesk?

HypeDesk is a curated catalog of indie apps for Mac and mobile. It launches with three apps made in-house — PromptNest (an AI prompt manager for Mac), Voicr (a Mac dictation app for non-native English speakers) and Erla (an AI language-learning app for iOS and Android) — and is opening to community submissions soon.

Are these native Mac apps or Electron wrappers?

PromptNest and Voicr are native macOS apps — fast, lightweight and built for the platform rather than cross-platform Electron wrappers. Erla is a native iOS and Android app. Native means quicker launches, lower memory use and a UI that feels at home on your device.

Which HypeDesk apps help non-native English speakers?

Two of them work together. Voicr is a Mac dictation app that understands accents and polishes your spoken English into clean, professional text in any app. Erla helps you practice listening and speaking a new language with an AI tutor. Together they cover working in English and learning to speak it.

What platforms do the apps support?

PromptNest and Voicr run on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later — PromptNest is on the Mac App Store and Voicr is a menu-bar app. Erla is available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Every app links directly to its official download from this page.

Can I submit my own app to HypeDesk?

Soon. HypeDesk is growing from an in-house collection into an open catalog where indie makers can submit their apps. If you’d like to be featured, email [email protected] and we’ll let you know the moment submissions open.
